A week of misery ended on another sour note as Hampshire's women were denied a first Metro Bank One Day Cup victory by a Blaze side that completed the domestic treble at the Utilita Bowl.
That was heartbreak enough.
The fact that Georgia Adams' side lost on the final ball after seemingly having the match in the bag merely added to the agony.
Despite the three wicket defeat, there is still plenty to celebrate about a young side which has upset the odds throughout the season and has had to cope with losing its England contingent for the vast majority of the season in a hugely congested summer.
