Hampshire's Overseas Recruitment Plans Hit by South Africa's Win Against the Aussies

South Africa's series win has struck a crucial blow for global Test cricket - but hasn't done much for Hampshire's overseas recruitment plans.

South Africa's thrilling series win against Australia has given Test cricket a timely boost as England prepare to head south for their Test series against Temba Bavuma's side.

But it has dealt a blow to Hampshire's recruitment plans for next summer.

The current World Test Champions beat the Aussies by 176 runs in the final Test in Cape Town, with the visitors subsiding meekly in their second innings to hand South Africa a 2-1 series victory.

A key reason for that comprehensive defeat was a sensational century by all-rounder Wiaan Mulder as the Proteas built a sizeable lead over an Australian side that has found itself on the ropes since a first Test win in Durban.
