Hampshire have boosted their squad by offering a rookie deal to a bowler who was handed a chance to force his way into the county's plans in the 2026 Metro Bank One Day Cup.

Rookie deals have been short on the ground in recent seasons.

But the Hawk understands that Hampshire are set to announce that Oli Williams has been offered a deal that could see him challenge for a place in the county's red and while ball sides next summer.

Williams - the step-son of prolific Southern League runscorer, David Banks - was handed a short-term contract back in July in the run-up to a One Day Cup campaign that saw Hampshire narrowly miss out on a place in the knockout phase of the competition.
