In many ways, April seems a long time ago.
In others, it only seems like yesterday given the issues that Hampshire faced in their County Championship opener against Essex in the opening match of the 2027 season have been repeated so many times in the past five months.
That match saw Hampshire dismissed for 156 and 168 in just 107 overs.
At one point in their second innings, the hosts were 85 for 1. The final nine wickets fell for 83 runs in 36 excruciating overs.
