Will enough counties side with Hampshire to push through new look County Championship

The vote on the future of the County Championship will take place in the next couple of days.

And the Hawk understands that the outcome of may ultimately surprise those who believe that the future of the 135 year old competition is a done deal.

Surrey, Middlesex, Somerset and Yorkshire have already made it clear that they are in favour of maintaining both the structure of the tournament and the current number of matchdays.

Essex and Nottinghamshire are recently believed to have sided with the quartet following consultation with members.
