Liam Dawson and Sonny Baker were both awarded central contracts for 2026. So, with England's first game not taking place until June, how much will Hampshire supporters see of their talisman and tyro after the opening month of the season?

This is already shaping up to be a lopsided international summer - though you could level that accusation annually, given the chaos that serves as the bilateral calendar.

Hampshire currently have two centrally contracted players in Liam Dawson and Sonny Baker, while Eddie Jack is also on a development contract.

England don't play their first match of the summer until June 4, when they take on New Zealand in the opening Test at Lord’s.

A white-ball series against India follows in July, before Pakistan arrive for three Tests. Sri Lanka then round off the year.
