A brief on-field appearance for England on their T20 tour of Ireland means Scott Currie will have to wait another three years to represent Scotland in international cricket.

The ICC's current rules dictate that Currie's blink-and-you-miss-it appearance as a substitute in the first T20 at Malahide is enough to reset his qualification period to play for Scotland.

World cricket's governing body's decision is a blow for Cricket Scotland.

But the Hawk understands that they have no plans to appeal the ruling and won't be lobbying the ICC to change the existing rules.
