There have been plenty of pinch yourself periods for Andrew Neal in 2025 - but putting pen to paper on a first professional deal at the Utilita Bowl could possibly top the lot.

Neal began his year working as a health and wellbeing physiologist at Nuffield hospital. His cricket ambitions stretched to playing for Hertfordshire in the National Counties.

Now, with the clocks having gone back this weekend, the 26-year-old still has plenty of time on his side as he looks to make an impact for Hampshire across all formats next season.

The Hawk understands that Neal is close to signing a contract, the length of which is currently unclear.
