Ben Brown's side once again lost early top order wickets after the bowlers excelled against Yorkshire at the Utilita Bowl.

Was today the day that Hampshire potentially reaped the benefit of their failure to land a second overseas player for the County Championship run-in?

Or will they be left ruing missing out on Sri Lankan spinner Dunith Wellalage by the time their crunch clash with Yorkshire is over?

Only time will tell whether its former, but Andrew Neal was once again a standout for Hampshire on a day that, like the majority of the county's Division One adventures this season, had more turns than Silverstone.

Had Wellalage's move not been scuppered by issues over an NOC, it's possible that Neal might have been watching on from the sidelines rather than lining up alongside fellow spinning all-rounder Felix Organ.
