Hampshire look set to be lining up against Yorkshire for a potentially season defining match without a second overseas player.
But they could be boosted by the return of one of their standout performers in red ball cricket in 2026.
The crazy international schedule means that Hampshire's chase for an overseas replacement for Delano Potgieter - who has been called up for South Africa A - has so far proved fruitless.
The Hawk understands that Hampshire were in the running to sign a Sri Lankan spinner for the County Championship run-in, which begins at the Utilita Bowl on Thursday.
