Paul Pritchard has hailed the pace of the development of Hampshire's youngsters as his side close in on the knockout stages of the Metro Bank One Day Cup.

A win over Essex at Chelmsford on Thursday left Hampshire five points clear at the top of the group.

Another victory over Durham at the Riverside on Sunday should be enough to secure Hampshire's place in the knockout stages as table toppers - handing them home advantage in the last four.

"I think I've been surprised by the consistency of the younger players that have come in this season," says Pritchard.
