Ali Orr has enjoyed an up and down start to his Hampshire career since joining the county from Sussex in November 2023.

A string of injuries have contributed to a frustrating couple of seasons for a player who travelled down the M27 having built a considerable reputation as a multi-format cricketer at Hove.

His first List A century for the club in a Metro Bank One Day Cup win over Leicestershire has given Hampshire supporters a glimpse of his capabilities.

The man himself, though, was quick to praise the impact of his opening partner and captain Nick Gubbins, who contributed 81 in a match-turning opening stand of 202 as Hampshire chased down the Foxes score of 252 with ease.
