Andrew Neal could have been forgiven for thinking that a career in first class cricket had passed him by.

After signing a professional deal with Hampshire for the remainder of the 2025 season, though, he has suddenly been presented with the chance of a lifetime.

And it's one that looked unlikely when he was forced to ditch the left-arm seam that had served him so well in National Counties' cricket as a result of injury two seasons ago.

In an exclusive interview with The Hawk, his captain and coach at Hertfordshire, Ben Waring, says that Hampshire have a real talent on their hands, and having shone in 17 Second XI appearances for the county already, he's backing him to make the absolute most of his latest opportunity.
