Hampshire left the Utilita Bowl disappointed but far from disillusioned after a two-wicket defeat to Somerset - but at least one person in the final-day crowd would have exited the south coast with a broad smile.

Sonny Baker has looked a class apart with the ball so far this season.

The 23-year-old is bowling as quickly as anyone in English cricket and is being rewarded for his efforts.

He has so far taken 13 County Championship wickets at a cost of just 21 and yesterday recorded his best Hampshire figures of 5 for 62 against his former county.
