But after defeat to Middlesex on Wednesday night, the Hawks now find themselves on the receiving end of another severe blow in the run up to Wednesday's knockout tie.
Cricket South Africa are hosting a dinner for all their central contracted players on Thursday.
And the Hawk understands that this will result in Tristan Stubbs being unavailable for Hampshire.
