Hampshire are set to announce the arrival of a second overseas player for the final four matches of the season.
Delano Potgieter was originally due to return to the county for the Division One run-in.
But a call-up to South Africa's A squad put pay to that particular plan, leaving Hampshire playing catch-up as their Division One rivals brought in a host of overseas names for the most hectic period of the red ball season.
Now, having seen their victory charge at Cardiff ended by the Welsh rain, there appears to be a chink of sunlight piercing the early September gloom.
