Hampshire players in line for England central contracts

At least two Hampshire are in line to receive a lucrative ECB Central Contract when the awards for the upcoming 2026 international season are announced later this month.

John Turner and Sonny Baker are currently the only players at the Utilita Bowl in receipt of an England deal, having been awarded Development Contracts.

Baker was handed his in February 2025 after impressing for the Lions on their tour of Australia. He made his first class debut in the final match of that tour against Australia A, taking 3 for 60 and earning praise from Lions' coach Andrew Flintoff.
