Hampshire miss out on former England all-rounder

Hampshire's recruitment plans for this summer's T20 Blast are still a work in progress.

But having secured skipper James Vince for another summer in the competition, the Hawk can reveal that Hampshire have missed out on another target in the shortest format for 2026.

Moeen Ali will turn 39 this summer, but the former England all-rounder is still very much a man in demand in white ball cricket.

Now living in Dubai - the same city that Vince now calls home - I understand that Hampshire were keen on bringing the left-armer to the south coast.
