Hampshire have made a bold call as they look to secure their Division One future in a crucial final fixture of the season against Surrey at the Utilita Bowl.

Adi Birrell's side will begin the game just two points ahead of Durham in eighth place in the table. Surrey, meanwhile, still harbour faint hopes of retaining the title they have won for the past three seasons.

Hampshire have drawn their last two matches against Sussex and Somerset but found themselves on the backfoot in the latter.

Now they've made a bold call at the start of a huge week.
