Ali Orr has revealed the secret of his opening partnership with Nick Gubbins, as the most feared pair of batters in the One Day Cup prepare for a showdown with Yorkshire at Scarborough.

The 24-year-old scored his second List A hundred for Hampshire as they overcame Middlesex on a variable Radlett pitch on Thursday.

His contribution of 108 off 140 balls was vital as Hampshire posted a target of 229 for the hosts.

Although his partnership of 45 with Gubbins was below par for the pair so far in this competition, it's clear that Orr and Hampshire's 50 over skipper have developed a special relationship at the top of the innings.
