Hampshire re-wrote the record books at Edgbaston but still came up short against Somerset in a Finals Day feast in the Midlands.

The travelling Hampshire support were treated to one of the best innings by a Hampshire overseas player in any format in a semi-final romp against Northamptonshire.

But could only watch on as Will Smead and Sean Dickson guided Somerset to a third Finals Day victory with an over to spare.

Earlier Hampshire had matched the record score in a final of the T20 Blast, smashing 194 for 6 in 20 pulsating overs of batting - a figure that matched Northamptonshire's total against Surrey in 2013.
