Hampshire's play-off victory over Middlesex at Radlett last Thursday could have been more than just a significant point on the county's route to the One Day Cup final.
It might also have represented the end of an era.
The future of the County Championship is still cloaked in uncertainty, but there is at least growing clarity on two elements of the schedule from next season.
