Adi Birrell may have left the county, but he is very much still at Hampshire in spirit following the appointment of Russell Domingo as head coach.

The South African arrives on the south coast as one of the most experienced coaches in world cricket.

He's also a man who is more than familiar with the players, as well as Hampshire's ups and downs in red and white ball cricket, having been given regular updates by Birrell during his time at the club.

In an interview with Dan George and Kevan James for the BBC earlier today, he spoke of almost daily conversations with Birrell about Hampshire's progress on and off the pitch.
