First the good news.
The last time Worcestershire won a 50 over trophy, John Major was Prime Minister, Viv Richards was on his final tour of England with the West Indies and Bryan Adams topped the charts for 16 weeks with '(Everything I do) I do it for you'.
Oh, and Hampshire were NatWest champions, having beaten Surrey in a epic Lord's final, thanks to memorable contributions from Robin Smith, Jon Ayling and Fletcha Middleton's dad, Tony.
Now the not such great news.
