It's the first day of July and the mercury is soaring. At the start of a crucial week, the pressure on Hampshire women's is also ratcheting up a notch or two.

Hampshire currently sit fourth in the Vitality Blast T20 table, a distant 12 points off table-toppers Surrey, but still within striking distance of the Blaze, Hampshire's opponents at Chesterfield on Friday.

For the new coach, Paul Prichard, this season has been a learning experience in every sense - and one that he has relished following Edwards' exit earlier this year.

"It has been a good challenge," says the former Essex batter. "And the club had been very supportive.
