Tom Prest finds himself at a Worcester hotel in the middle of an August heatwave and there's an issue.
"It's 32 degrees and there's no air-conditioning - I'm stood in front of a fan so apologies if there's some background noise," he says, laughing.
Prest is no stranger to feeling the heat.
Since making a triple hundred for Hampshire's Second XI against Sussex at the age of just 18 and just hours after sitting a geography A Level, his progress has been followed as closely as any other English batter.
