The irony of Liam Dawson being brought through the ranks of a club called Goatacre won't be lost on Hampshire die-hards.

He is, after all, already the GOAT in the eyes of many Utilita Bowl regulars.

His journey back to the England Test side has been far lengthier than he would have liked.

But while only three other English cricketers in Test history, including fellow Hampshire cricketer Derek Shackleton, have had to wait over 100 Tests between caps, patience has always been one of Dawson's key attributes.
