Former Hampshire Academy seamer Oli Cordery is about as far from Winchester as you can get right now, bowling in the fierce Aussie heat in Tamworth, New South Wales in Aussie grade cricket.

Little wonder he’s making the most of it.  By the time he’s lining up for St Cross in next season’s Southern Premier Cricket League (SPCL) in April, he’ll be freezing like the rest of us.

Cordery, who turns 19 next week, was released by Hampshire at the end of last season after three years in the Academy.

But there’s not a shred of bitterness or disappointment when the Hawk catches up with him.
