Breakout 2025 Star Eyeing All-round Contribution as Hampshire's Women Prepare to Kick-off Campaign Against Essex

Freya Kemp was one of Hampshire's standout stars with the bat last season. So effective was she that it's easy to forget she first arrived on the south coast as an all-rounder. A series of back injuries have impinged her ability to bowl in recent seasons, but she's hoping to put those to bed this summer - and make an all-round impact for Hampshire.

Freya Kemp was outstanding for Hampshire's women last summer, proving herself as one of the most destructive young batters in the country in white ball cricket.

Still just 20, Kemp has spent this winter playing in the WBBL in Australia before being snapped up by the Welsh Fire back in January. She'll be part of the Hampshire side that are opening their campaign against Essex in the Metro Bank One Day Cup at the Utilita Bowl tomorrow.

And after seeing her all-round contribution with the ball limited by a series of back injuries in recent seasons, she's hoping to make up for lost time in 2026.
